Joe Macaluso - CEO and Founder
A pharmaceutical industry veteran with an astute understanding of market dynamics, Joe Macaluso envisioned a better way to distribute and manage drug sampling. Acting on his creative instincts, he cofounded Phoenix Marketing Group in 1983, followed by Phoenix Call Reporting in 1987. He then formed The Macaluso Group (TMG) in 2001 to expand his earlier vision to a new, exciting and cutting-edge reality.

Since then, Joe has led the evolution of TMG from an intuitive idea to a premiere provider of innovative hub services. TMG has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America's fastest-growing privately held companies—for seven years. Notably, all of his entrepreneurial ventures have been ranked in the top 100 of the Inc. 500|5000 category for their year of inclusion. .

Mary-Beth Macaluso President

Mary-Beth joined TMG in 2005 with over 25 years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry. Her experience of working as a specialty representative for both biotech manufactures as well as a Specialty Pharmacy provides her with deep industry knowledge for creating customer-centric programs.

Driven by her passion to help patients in the unique high cost specialty market, Mary-Beth utilizes her deep industry knowledge, strategic partnerships and TMG’s superior technology platform towards creating patient access solutions. Her customer-centric philosophy has set the tone for TMG’s high-touch support culture. She has also helped define TMG’s systems infrastructure to support the ever-evolving patient access market.

Mary-Beth graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Connecticut with a concentration in Neuroscience. She went on to earn her Masters degree In Business Administration from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management. She is an active practitioner in the International Shotokan Federation and holds a 4th degree black belt.

Mary-Beth has been recognized for her leadership by the National Association of Women and awarded the women of the year in 2012.

Jay Macaluso President, Specialty Pharmacy and Insurance Benefits

Jay joined TMG in 2003, applying acumen in business development and program management to satisfy the growing needs in account management and trade-relations management for the company. Now, as President of TMG and Director of Specialty Pharmacy and Insurance Benefits, Jay directs all program development and card production operations.

Jay’s patient-centric approach and deep understanding of the chronic disease market has helped to define the vision at TMG. His Leadership drives the company mission to ensure that every patient on a TMG program receives individualized high-touch compassion from every TMG employee.

Before TMG, Jay founded and directed multiple entrepreneurial ventures, including Arizona Barbecue Inc., a successful business that catered and coordinated very large private and corporate events. He received his training as a Chef at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts after completing studies at Mercyhurst College

Dr. Kris Lakshmanan EVP, Information Technology

With over 20 years of experience leading software development projects in systems architecture, capacity planning and real-time data processing, Kris manages the overall information technology team for TMG. He joined TMG when D2M Solutions, Inc., the software services company he co-founded, merged with TMG. As its CEO, Kris grew the Bridgewater, NJ-based corporation in several vertical markets. This involved developing pre-paid and loyalty cards programs for the pharmaceutical/healthcare companies, platforms for wireless/mobile applications, as well as for retailers.

His current responsibilities include creating and implementing TMG's strategic direction.

Prior to founding D2M Solutions, Kris was an executive at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore). There, he developed prototypes of new interactive multimedia network services, such as messaging, video-on-demand and interactive. He also developed software for Advanced Intelligent Network services and applications for broadband services.

Before Bellcore, he led systems engineering development for 3 years at Program Resources, Inc., where he directed a laboratory automation project for the Environmental Protection Agency in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

Kris holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University, where he developed software for real-time process control and computer image processing systems. .

Dr. Raman Lakshmanan Chief Technology Officer

Raman manages software design and development activities for TMG, applying his extensive experience with multiple operating systems, relational database management systems, programming languages, local and wide area networks, object-oriented design/development, new technology introduction, and design and implementation of enterprise networks and network based services.

Before cofounding D2M Solutions, Inc., Raman was the Director and Lead Designer at Bellcore for 12 years. There, he was responsible for the design and development of the first PC-based field force management system. He was also awarded several honors for his work in R&D for wireless data networks products, large-scale software systems development, local and wide area network design, and fast-packet data network protocols.

As Director of the Internet Surveillance Development Group, he led concept development and exploration for PDA technology and recruited over 400 technical staff. Prior to that, he managed a fault-tolerant super mini-computer laboratory with over 100 staff and 15 computers as Director of Network Technology Development Group. The Laboratory supported over 150 software developers in three organizations. He has managed the design, development and integration of large-scale, distributed, client-server and peer-to-peer software solutions on multiple hardware and software platforms.

Raman also is an adjunct faculty member at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ and teaches classes in mobile application development, advanced database design and architecture, software engineering and web development.

Raman received a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Oakland University, Rochester, MI.

Jo Ann Joseph Senior VP, Chief Operating Officer

Jo Ann Joseph has worked collaboratively with Joe Macaluso in multiple pharmaceutical sales and marketing operational support roles for more than 20 years. At TMG, she was the first Vice President of Operations, playing a crucial role in sourcing and developing key service provider relationships. Her diligent and resourceful actions were not only vital to the success of the company's 2001 launch, but continue to provide the foundation for top-notch customer service and operations.

Today, as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Jo Ann directs the Client Services Department and manages corporate administration and financial functions.

Ted Dargan EVP, Chief Payments Officer & Managing Director - Payment Solutions

As the EVP, Chief Payments Officer and Managing Director of Payment Solutions, Ted brings an unmatched background in financial card services ranging from credit, debit/prepaid and alternative payments. He plays an integral role in helping TMG maintain its leadership position in a highly regulated marketplace. Ted is responsible for defining, designing and implementing our suite of payment solutions and leading the charge to evolve them into the future.

Ted comes to TMG from SpendSmart Networks LLC, a provider of payments and loyalty solutions. As the Vice President - Global Head of Card Operations, Innovation/Product Management, Ted focused on serving segment markets at the consumer and merchant level. Before SpendSmart, Ted was Senior Vice President, Global Head Card/Innovations Services at EZCORP.

Ted has held other leadership positions, including President and CEO of Cornerstone Marketing LLC; Vice President of Global Prepaid and Sales for MasterCard Worldwide; and Senior Director for Co-brand and Director for Membership Rewards at American Express—in the U.S. and London. He began his career as the Senior Marketing Director of Global Services within the Personal Computer and Server group at Hewlett-Packard.

Ted holds a BA in Economics and Finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and an MBA in Marketing and Global Communications from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Scott P. Jones Chief Information Officer / Chief Security, Privacy, & Compliance Officer

Serving in the dual roles of Chief Information Officer and Chief Security, Privacy, & Compliance Officer for TMG, Scott leverages his extensive experience in technology, operations and strategic program leadership roles at Fortune 500 firms in a variety of industries. In his dual roles at TMG, Scott is responsible for leading the implementation of new technology solutions for TMG clients and maintaining the ongoing high performance and availability of TMG products and services, while also ensuring that TMG fulfills its commitment to continuously meet the highest compliance standards, including HIPAA and PCI DSS Level 1 certification.

Before joining TMG, Scott was an executive with Asurion, a global provider of mobile device protection and technical support services. At Asurion, he held a variety of technology and strategic program leadership positions, including serving as the CIO of Asurion Europe. Earlier in his career, Scott held executive technology and operations leadership positions with Expedia, CVS/Caremark, CIGNA and Nortel Networks.

Scott earned a BS in Business Administration and an MBA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The extensive TMG Network

Security and compliance

With TMG, transactions are processed with the highest level of card security available. TMG has been certified by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for its payment cards having the highest level of compliance.

The Guardian Verification Solution is a TMG proprietary matching process that instantly identifies and excludes individuals who are enrolled in a state or federally funded program. The only program of its kind for Payment Card programs, it verifies eligibility and detects changes in status—rapidly and reliably.
